Dreamy Block by Sherri McConnell: Your Next Quilting Obsession

Welcome back for week 21 of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along! We're celebrating our amazing quilting community, and this week we have something truly special. Sherri McConnell, the creative force behind A Quilting Life and half of the mother-daughter fabric designing duo, is sharing her fanciful Dreamy Block pattern. ### Meet Sherri McConnell Sherri McConnell is a pattern designer who knows how to blend tradition with a fresh twist. She's also the co-designer of the Strawberry Lemonade collection for Moda Fabrics, which she's using to sew her own Sewcialites 3 Quilt. This week, she's brought us an intermediate-level block made with a handful of half square triangles and some creative piecing. It's a perfect project for quilters ready to level up their skills without feeling overwhelmed. ### What Makes the Dreamy Block Special The Dreamy Block uses half square triangles to create a soft, airy design that feels both modern and timeless. You'll need a few basic supplies: - Half square triangle paper in 1-inch, 2-inch, and 3-inch sizes - Free PDF pattern for Sewcialites 3 Block 21 - Sewcialites 3 Information Packet - Your favorite fabrics (Sherri recommends the Strawberry Lemonade collection) You can download the free PDF pattern and information packet from the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along Supply Page. The block comes in three sizes: 3 inches, 6 inches, and 9 inches. Kimberly sewed the 6-inch block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs. Gina Tell made the 3-inch block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique. And Pat Sloan pieced her 9-inch block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts. All fabrics are from Moda Fabrics. ### Live Tutorial and Community Join Kimberly for a live sewing tutorial of the Dreamy Block on Friday, July 17th, at 9 AM CT. The tutorial will air on the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel. It's a great chance to see the block come together in real time and ask questions.
