I Made the Viral 6-Day Superstar Blanket - Here's What Happened

With Lori Holt's new crochet book coming out soon, I've found myself reaching for my crochet hooks and yarn a lot recently. The 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along hosted by Betty McKnit has been the talk of the town for a few years now, and this year she partnered with Juniper Moon Farm for the coziest color gradients yet. Keep reading to see what I made and to learn how you can join in on the stitchy fun! ### My Experience with the 6-Day Superstar Blanket I'll be honest - I wasn't sure I could finish a whole blanket in six days. But the pattern is designed to be achievable, and the community support makes it feel like a shared adventure rather than a race. The live event has already wrapped up, but Betty set up some great resources for crocheters to reference whenever they choose to start their own 6-Day Superstar Blanket. For mine, I chose the Alaskan June Afternoon Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn. The pretty corals melt into bright peony pinks and soft greens, creating the look of a blooming flower. The color transitions are smooth and natural, which is exactly what you want in a gradient project. ### What You'll Need to Get Started Here's the complete list of supplies I used for my blanket. Most of these are standard crochet tools you probably already have on hand: - 6 skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn (I needed a little bit of a seventh skein to finish mine) - 6-Day Superstar Blanket pattern for Juniper Moon Farm exclusive variation (free with ads, or you can buy the ad-free PDF) - Stitch markers - Scissors - Yarn needle - US Size H (5mm) crochet hook (I used this for my first skein) - US Size I (5.5mm) crochet hook (I used this for the rest of the blanket) ### Tips for Your Own Crochet Along One thing I learned is that switching hook sizes can make a big difference. I started with the smaller H hook for my first skein, then moved up to the I hook for the rest of the blanket. That helped me get a consistent gauge and a nice drape. Also, don't be afraid to use a little extra yarn if you need it - I only needed about half of a seventh skein to finish mine, so plan accordingly. ### Will You Join In On The Stitchy Fun?
