The Blockheads 7 Quilt Along, hosted by Moda Fabrics, brings 30 weeks of quilty camaraderie—and the first of 30 free quilt block patterns goes live tomorrow. Kimberly is joining in on the fun again this year, and she's making her blocks using Bloomsberry by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics. Moda Blockheads 7 was officially announced on Wednesday, September 30th, and the last block goes live on Wednesday, April 28th. Each Wednesday morning, you can visit the Moda Inspiration + Resources blog for a post dedicated to that week's block. Then, head over to their Instagram and YouTube for weekly videos that introduce that week's designer, highlight the block construction, and point you to helpful notions and tutorials. For all these details and more, you can watch the Welcome to Blockheads 7 video on their channel now. ### Two Ways to Quilt Along This year, Moda is bringing back the option to sew at your own pace by offering the paid Friends & Neighbors Blockheads 7 Quilt Pattern. Whether you pick up this pattern or wait for the weekly FREE block patterns, we will all have sew much fun growing our skills, engaging with a quilty community, and sharing inspiration. ### Moda Blockheads 7 Fabric Requirements Because this is a sampler quilt with different setting options and block sizes, the actual fabric requirements will vary depending on how scrappy you like your blocks, which setting you pick, and other variables. Moda recommends starting with 30-35 assorted print fat quarters and 4 yards of a background fabric to make the blocks. With 40 fat quarters in the Bloomsberry Fat Quarter Bundle and 7-8 yards of Bloomsberry White Favorite Dot on hand, Kimberly is ready to start sewing. ### Share with Us!
