Welcome back for week 24 of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along! We're celebrating our amazing quilting community, and this week we're thrilled to introduce the Star Light Block by Lisa Bongean. If you've been sewing along with us, you know each week brings a new challenge from one of 25 incredibly talented designers. This one, though, might just become your new favorite. ### Meet Lisa Bongean Lisa is a longtime quilter and the creative force behind Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics. She's known for her love of primitive style and her knack for making traditional blocks feel fresh. This week, she's brought us an experience-level block that will really put your piecing skills to the test. You'll be making eight flying geese and using some clever corner square techniques that add a bit of a twist. If you're the kind of quilter who enjoys a good challenge, you're in for a treat. And if you're more of a beginner, don't worry—we've got you covered. Kimberly will be hosting a live sewing tutorial on Friday, August 7th, at 9 AM CT, in the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel. It's a great way to follow along and pick up some tips. ### The Star Light Block Pattern Ready to start? That way, you can catch up and be ready to sew along with us. ### See the Block in Different Sizes One of the fun things about this quilt along is seeing how different fabrics can change the look of a block. Kimberly sewed the 6-inch block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics. Gina Tell made the 3-inch block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics. And Pat Sloan pieced her 9-inch block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics. Each version has its own personality, and it's a great way to get inspiration for your own fabric choices. Our Quilty Staffers are also joining in, making 9-inch blocks using Blueprint by Camille Roskelley, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder—all for Moda Fabrics. It's always fun to see how the same pattern can look so different with different fabric lines. > "The Star Light Block is a perfect blend of tradition and technique. It's challenging enough to keep you interested, but the results are absolutely stunning." ### Join the Sewcialites Lounge We'd love for you to join the conversation! Head over to the Sewcialites Lounge on Facebook, where you can meet fellow Sewcialites, ask questions, and get weekly updates. We can't wait to see what the final block will be, and we're excited to see all of your finished quilts. Happy quilting, and we'll see you back here soon!
