Welcome back for week 24 of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along, where we're celebrating the incredible talent in our quilting community. Each week, one of the 25 oh-so-talented designers we've teamed up with brings you a brand-new block pattern. This week, we're thrilled to introduce the dazzling Star Light Block by Lisa Bongean.
### Meet Lisa Bongean and Her Creative Vision
Lisa Bongean is a longtime quilter and the creative force behind Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics. She designed the Star Light Block to put your piecing skills to the test. With eight flying geese units and clever corner square techniques, this block is perfect for quilters who love a satisfying challenge.
If you want to sew along with us, join Kimberly for a live tutorial on Friday, August 7th, at 9 AM CT. You can catch the session in the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel. It's a great way to pick up tips and tricks while connecting with fellow quilters.
Lisa is sewing her own Sewcialites 3 Quilt using her American Gatherings III collection for Moda Fabrics. Her fabric choices bring a warm, rustic feel to the block, and you'll love seeing how the pattern comes together in her signature style.
### What You Need for the Star Light Block
Before you start cutting, here's what you'll need to gather:
- The free Star Light Block PDF pattern
- The Sewcialites 3 Information Packet
- 1-inch by 2-inch Flying Geese Foundation Paper
- 1.5-inch by 3-inch Flying Geese Foundation Paper
You can also visit the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along Supply Page to grab the patterns for Blocks 1 through 23 if you're just joining us or need to catch up.
### See the Block in Three Different Sizes
One of the best parts of this quilt along is seeing how the same block looks completely different in various sizes and fabric collections. Kimberly stitched the 6-inch block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics. Gina Tell made the 3-inch version in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique, and Pat Sloan pieced her 9-inch block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts. Each version has its own personality, and it's fascinating to compare them side by side.
Our in-house Quilty Staffers are also getting in on the fun. They're making 9-inch blocks using three gorgeous collections: Blueprint by Camille Roskelley, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder. You'll see plenty of variety in the finished quilt, and it's a great reminder that fabric choice can completely transform a pattern.

### What's Next in the Quilt Along
We'll be back on Friday, August 14th, with the twenty-fifth and final block release of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along. It's hard to believe we're almost at the end, but there's still plenty of sewing to do. Keep your fabric stash ready and your sewing machine threaded.
Happy quilting, and we'll see you in the Sewcialites Lounge!
