Week 3 of the Sewing Machine Love Quilt Along is here, and we're piecing the scrappy Patchwork Quilt block. Get the full supplies list and join the fun before it's too late.
Week three of the Sewing Machine Love Quilt Along is here, and things are getting wonderfully scrappy. We're piecing together the Patchwork Quilt block, and honestly, this is where the quilt starts to feel alive.
If you missed week two, don't worry. That's when we tackled the Sewing Machine block, which becomes the sweet little centerpiece of the whole project. So if you're just joining us, you've got some catching up to do, but there's no rush. This is a sew-along, not a race.
### Why This Quilt Hits Different
Here's the thing about the Sewing Machine Love Quilt. It isn't just another pattern. It captures something real: a quilter's love for their machine and the love we pass along through the projects we make for the people in our lives.
Finishing at 46.5" x 58.5", it's a manageable size that still makes a statement. The quilt features the Bloomsberry collection by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, and the fabric does a lot of the heavy lifting here. Soft, cheerful, and just right for a pictorial quilt like this one.
### What You Need to Make the Sewing Machine Love Quilt
Haven't gathered your supplies yet? You've still got plenty of time to sew along. Here's the full list, straight from the pattern:
- Sewing Machine Love Quilt Kit
- Sewing Machine Love Backing Set
- Sewing Machine Love Downloadable PDF Pattern (a Fat Quarter Shop exclusive)
- Sewing Machine Love Binding Keeper (also a Fat Quarter Shop exclusive)
Having everything in one place before you start cutting saves you a mid-project scramble. Trust me on that one.
### Join Us for the Sewing Machine Love Quilt Along
It's not too late to jump in. Download the badge, share it, and let folks know you're participating. Everyone can sew along, and we genuinely hope you will.
Gather your supplies, start on week one's blocks, and share your progress with #SewingMachineLoveQAL. Seeing everyone's take on the same pattern is half the fun.
> "The best quilts aren't the perfect ones. They're the ones you actually finish, with all the messy seams and late-night stitching baked right in."
### What's Coming Next
Week three is all about building out that patchwork frame around the sewing machine centerpiece. Take your time with the scrappy piecing. It's supposed to look a little playful, so don't stress about making every block match perfectly.
If you're behind, that's okay. Pick up your rotary cutter, pour a cup of coffee, and sew one block at a time. Before you know it, you'll have a quilt that tells your story, one stitch at a time.
Stay connected and keep sharing your progress. We love seeing what you make.
