Welcome back for week 22 of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along! We're celebrating our amazing quilting community, and this week we're thrilled to introduce the grounded Down To Earth Block by the talented Wendy Sheppard. This intermediate-level block features flying geese and plenty of piecing, perfect for quilters ready to stretch their skills. ### Meet the Designer: Wendy Sheppard Wendy Sheppard is a quilt pattern designer who brings a fresh perspective to traditional designs. This week, she's sharing the Down To Earth Block, which she's sewing with scrappy red, white, and blue fabrics from her stash. It's a great way to use up those leftover pieces and create something truly unique. ### Live Sewing Tutorial You can join Kimberly for a live sewing tutorial of the Down To Earth Block on Friday, July 24th, at 9 AM CT, in the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel. This is a fantastic opportunity to see the block come together step by step and ask questions in real time. ### Block Pattern and Recommended Supplies To get started with the Down To Earth Block, you'll need the free PDF pattern and some recommended foundation papers. Here's what you'll need: - Sewcialites 3 Block 22 – Down To Earth by Wendy Sheppard Free PDF Pattern - Sewcialites 3 Information Packet Free PDF - 1-inch x 2-inch Flying Geese Quilt Block Foundation Paper - 1.5-inch x 3-inch Flying Geese Quilt Block Foundation Paper - Visit the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along Supply Page for patterns for Blocks 1-21 ### See the Block in Different Sizes The Down To Earth Block comes in three size options: 3-inch, 6-inch, and 9-inch blocks. Each size uses different fabric collections to show off the block's versatility. Kimberly sewed the 6-inch block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics. Gina Tell made the 3-inch block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics. Pat Sloan pieced her 9-inch block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics. Three of our Quilty Staffers are also joining in, making 9-inch blocks using Blueprint by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics. It's inspiring to see how different fabrics can transform the same block pattern. ### Join the Sewcialites Community Ready to chat?
