What I Discovered Crocheting the 6-Day Superstar Blanket

With Lori Holt's new crochet book coming out soon, I've been reaching for my hooks and yarn a lot lately. The 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along, hosted by Betty McKnit, has been the talk of the town for a few years now. This year, she partnered with Juniper Moon Farm to create the coziest color gradients yet. Keep reading to see what I made and learn how you can join in on the stitchy fun. ### Supplies for the 6-Day Superstar Blanket This year's crochet along featured the Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow yarn collection. There are so many great gradients to pick from. For mine, I chose the Alaskan June Afternoon Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn. The pretty corals melt into bright peony pinks and soft greens, creating the look of a blooming flower. Here's what you'll need to participate: - 6 skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn (I needed a little bit of a seventh skein to finish mine) - 6-Day Superstar Blanket pattern for Juniper Moon Farm exclusive variation (free with ads; ad-free PDF available) - Stitch markers - Scissors - Yarn needle - US size H (5 mm) crochet hook (I used this for my first skein) - US size I (5.5 mm) crochet hook (I used this for the rest of the blanket) That's it. Simple supplies, but the results are stunning. ### My Experience with the Crochet Along I started with the smaller hook for my first skein. It gave me a nice, tight gauge. But after switching to the size I hook, the blanket grew faster and felt softer. The color transitions in the Alaskan June Afternoon yarn are gorgeous. Each stripe flows naturally into the next, like a sunset over a flower garden. By the end of the first skein, I was hooked. The pattern is repetitive but not boring. It's the kind of project you can pick up during a TV show or a coffee break. And the community around the crochet along is amazing. People share their progress, tips, and finished blankets on social media.
