Why I Couldn't Put Down My Hook for the 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along

With Lori Holt's new crochet book coming out soon, I have found myself reaching for my crochet hooks and yarn a lot recently. The 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along hosted by Betty McKnit has been the talk of the town for a few years now, and this year she has partnered with Juniper Moon Farm for the coziest color gradients yet. Keep reading to see what I made and to learn about how you can join in on the stitchy fun! ### What You'll Need to Get Started This year's 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along featured the Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow yarn collection, and there are so many great gradients to pick from. For mine, I chose the Alaskan June Afternoon Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn. The pretty corals melt into bright peony pinks and soft greens, creating the look of a blooming flower. Here is what you will need to participate: - 6 skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn (I needed just a little bit of a seventh skein to finish mine) - The 6-Day Superstar Blanket pattern for Juniper Moon Farm (free with ads or ad-free PDF) - Stitch markers - Scissors - Yarn needle - US size H (5mm) crochet hook (I used this for my first skein) - US size I (5.5mm) crochet hook (I used this for the rest of the blanket) This is how far I got with my first skein of yarn! It's amazing how quickly the colors start to blend and create that gradient effect. ### How the Crochet Along Works While the live event has already wrapped up, Betty set up some great resources for crocheters to reference whenever they choose to start their 6-Day Superstar Blanket. You don't have to follow a strict schedule, and you can work at your own pace. The pattern is written so that even beginners can jump in and feel confident. And the community is incredibly supportive, with lots of tips and encouragement shared along the way. ### My Experience Making the Blanket I have to admit, I was a little nervous starting this project. Six days felt like a tight timeline, but the pattern is surprisingly easy to follow once you get the hang of it. The first few rows took some time as I adjusted to the stitch pattern, but by day two, I was flying through the rows. The color changes in the yarn kept me motivated, and I found myself sneaking in a few rows whenever I had a spare moment. By the end of the week, I had a beautiful, cozy blanket that I'm proud to display in my living room. The gradient effect is even more stunning in person, and the cotton yarn is soft but sturdy.
