With Lori Holt's new crochet book coming out soon, I've found myself reaching for my crochet hooks and yarn a lot recently. The 6-Day Superstar Blanket Crochet Along hosted by Betty McKnit has been the talk of the town for a few years now, and this year she partnered with Juniper Moon Farm for the coziest color gradients yet. Keep reading to see what I made and to learn how you can join in on the stitchy fun. ### What You'll Need for the 6-Day Superstar Blanket This year's crochet along featured the Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow yarn collection. There are so many great gradients to pick from. For mine, I chose the Alaskan June Afternoon Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn. The pretty corals melt into bright peony pinks and soft greens, creating the look of a blooming flower. Here's what you'll need to participate: - **6 Skeins of Juniper Moon Farm Cirrus Rainbow Cotton Yarn** โ€“ I needed a little bit of a seventh skein to finish mine. - **6-Day Superstar Blanket for Juniper Moon Farm Exclusive Pattern Variation** โ€“ Free pattern with ads or ad-free PDF pattern. - **Stitch Markers** โ€“ Essential for keeping your place. - **Scissors** โ€“ A good pair makes all the difference. - **Yarn Needle** โ€“ For weaving in ends. - **US Size H (5mm) Crochet Hook** โ€“ I used this for my first skein. - **US Size I (5.5mm) Crochet Hook** โ€“ I switched to this for the rest of the blanket. ### My Progress and Tips This is how far I got with my first skein of yarn. The color changes in the Juniper Moon Farm yarn are gradual, so each row feels like a small surprise. I found that using the smaller hook for the first skein helped me get a tighter gauge, then switching to the larger hook made the rest of the blanket go faster. If you're new to crochet alongs, don't stress about keeping up. Just take your time and enjoy the process. > "The best part of a crochet along is the community. You're never alone in your stitches." โ€“ Betty McKnit ### How to Join the Crochet Along Even though the live event has wrapped up, Betty set up some great resources for crocheters to reference whenever they choose to start their 6-Day Superstar Blanket. You can visit her blog post to learn all about the project, the resources, and the community surrounding the crochet along. She also has a helpful video introduction on her YouTube channel. I shared my finished blanket on the Behind The Seams Livestream from Friday, July 10th. ### Will You Join In? I had so much fun crocheting this blanket. It's about 4 feet wide and 5 feet long, perfect for curling up on the couch. The total cost for the yarn was around $60, which is a steal for a handmade blanket. I can't wait to see all the amazing 6-Day Superstar Blankets you make.
