Welcome back for week 22 of the Sewcialites 3 Quilt Along! We're celebrating our amazing quilting community with another fantastic block. This week, we're excited to introduce the grounded Down To Earth Block by Wendy Sheppard. It's a pattern that feels both fresh and familiar, perfect for quilters ready to level up.
### Meet the Designer: Wendy Sheppard
Wendy Sheppard is a quilt pattern designer known for her approachable yet intricate designs. This week, she brought us the intermediate-level Down To Earth Block. It's built with flying geese and plenty of piecing, so you'll get a solid workout for your sewing skills. Think of it as a friendly challenge that rewards patience.
### Live Tutorial and Community
You can join Kimberly for a live sewing tutorial of the Down To Earth Block on Friday, July 24th, at 9 AM Central Time. It's part of the Behind The Seams Livestream on the Fat Quarter Shop YouTube Channel. Wendy is sewing her Sewcialites 3 Quilt with scrappy red, white, and blue scraps from her stash. That's a great way to use up leftover fabric.

### Three Size Options to Explore
Take a look at the Down To Earth Block in all three size options, using different collections! Kimberly sewed the 6-inch block using Lyda Rose by Bunny Hill Designs for Moda Fabrics. Gina Tell made the 3-inch block in Wild Honey by Lella Boutique for Moda Fabrics. Pat Sloan pieced her 9-inch block with Rosie by Fig Tree Quilts for Moda Fabrics. Each size gives a different feel, so you can choose what suits your project best.
### Staffers Joining the Fun
Three of our Quilty Staffers are joining in and making the 9-inch blocks using Blueprint by Camille Roskelley for Moda Fabrics, American Gatherings III by Primitive Gatherings for Moda Fabrics, and In the Garden by Corey Yoder for Moda Fabrics. It's inspiring to see how different fabric lines transform the same block pattern.
